Head Coach - Swimming - St. Petersburg Catholic H.S.

Department: High School Education
Location: St. Petersburg, FL

St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Head Swimming Coach to lead our student-athletes and continue building a competitive and faith-centered swimming program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing young people both in and out of the pool, fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the high school swimming program.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices, meet preparation, and competition strategies.
  • Teach and develop fundamental and advanced swimming techniques, race strategies, and conditioning.
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and Christ-centered team culture.
  • Mentor student-athletes in their athletic, academic, personal, and spiritual development.
  • Coordinate team schedules, meet entries, travel arrangements, and program logistics.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, administration, and athletic department staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all school, diocesan, Florida High School Athletic Association, and league rules and regulations.
  • Promote the swimming program within the school and local community.
  • Assist with program growth, including offseason development and middle school outreach.

Qualifications

  • Previous coaching experience in competitive swimming at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of swimming technique, training methods, and race strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Ability to successfully complete all diocesan and school employment requirements, including background screening and Safe Environment training.
