Description
Corpus Christi Catholic School, located in Temple Terrace, Florida, in the Diocese of Saint Petersburg, seeks a Principal beginning with the 20262027 school year. Reporting to the Pastor and working in collaboration with the Office of Catholic Schools and Centers, the Principal fosters a strong Catholic identity and ensures academic excellence in all aspects of school life.
The Principal serves as the spiritual and instructional leader of the school community and works collaboratively with faculty, staff, families, and parish leadership to advance the mission of Catholic education. The Principal promotes a culture of faith formation, academic rigor, and service, ensuring that students grow in their relationship with Christ while developing the knowledge and skills needed to serve others and contribute to a just and compassionate world.
Qualifications
The Principal is the Chief Operating Officer of Corpus Christi Catholic School with ultimate responsibility for all academic and operational aspects of the school. S/he establishes policies, oversees all programs, and ensures the institution meets all diocesan, state, and accrediting agency requirements. The Principal provides leadership and supervision to the faculty and staff and works directly with students and families regarding admissions, student formation, and adherence to school policies.
The successful candidate will have a clear vision of and dedication to the values and philosophy of Catholic education. Candidates must understand the stewardship challenges facing Catholic schools and possess strong leadership, financial management, and communication skills to ensure the long-term vitality of the school. The Principal works closely with the Pastor and the Office of Catholic Schools and Centers to support the mission and sustainability of the school.
The successful candidate will be a spiritually motivated practicing Roman Catholic with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a future-oriented academic vision, knowledge of current educational methods, and proven leadership ability.
Candidate must:
Be a practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church.
Have a strong commitment to Catholic education and the Churchs evangelizing mission.
Have earned (or be in the process of earning) a graduate degree in Educational Leadership or a related field from an accredited institution.
Hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Florida Educational Leadership Certificate (All Levels).
Meet Florida Department of Education and accrediting agency requirements for school principals.
Demonstrate knowledge of best practices in pedagogy, curriculum, and child development.
Additional Requirements
Must successfully complete a Level II background screening and Safe Environment training in accordance with diocesan policy
Proficiency/Fluency in Spanish is recommended but not required.
