The Opportunity
Academy of the Holy Names seeks a strategic, student-centered Athletic Director to lead and strengthen its middle and upper school athletic programs. The next Athletic Director will build on a proud tradition of competitive success while ensuring alignment with the school’s mission, culture, and long-term strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for athletics aligned with AHN’s mission
• Promote a culture of sportsmanship, character, and competitive integrity
• Align athletic programming with broader institutional goals

Program Oversight

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate coaches and athletic staff
• Oversee scheduling, facilities, budgeting, and compliance
• Ensure adherence to FHSAA and other governing body requirements

Student-Athlete Development

• Champion academic success and personal growth
• Support leadership development within teams
• Collaborate with college counseling regarding recruitment pathways

Community Engagement

• Strengthen partnerships with families, alumni, and community stakeholders
• Elevate school spirit and visibility through athletics
• Collaborate with Advancement and Enrollment to support storytelling and recruitment initiatives

Ideal Candidate Profile

• The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Experience leading or supporting athletic programs in an independent, private, or mission-driven school
• Strong organizational and financial management skills
• Proven ability to recruit and retain talented coaches
• Clear, confident communication and relationship-building strengths
• A student-centered leadership philosophy
• A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
Academy of the Holy Names offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package.  The package may include a signing bonus and relocation assistance.
