Join our vibrant community at Tampa Catholic High School as we seek a dedicated full-time AP Chemistry Instructor. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator with a passion for science education who is committed to fostering academic excellence, critical thinking, and a love of discovery in the sciences within a faith-centered learning environment.
Position: Full-Time AP Chemistry Instructor
Deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in Advanced Placement Chemistry and related science courses in alignment with College Board standards.
Design and implement laboratory-based, inquiry-driven instruction that develops students’ analytical and scientific reasoning skills.
Utilize pedagogical best practices such as Understanding by Design, Standards-Based Assessment, and data-informed instruction.
Integrate classroom technology, including Canvas and our 1:1 iPad program, to enhance learning, collaboration, and assessment.
Maintain a safe, organized, and effective science laboratory environment, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Science Department and across disciplines to strengthen curriculum alignment and interdisciplinary learning.
Support Tampa Catholic’s mission by encouraging intellectual curiosity, ethical reflection, and respect for the relationship between faith, reason, and scientific inquiry.
Participate actively in the life of the school community through professional development, faculty collaboration, and student support.
BA or MA in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience teaching AP Chemistry or upper-level high school chemistry strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to implement lab-based instruction and scientific inquiry practices.
Experience with educational technology integration, laboratory management, and curriculum design preferred.
Ability to challenge students academically while fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and contributing to the mission of Catholic secondary education.
