Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach

Position Summary

St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach to support the development of our girls lacrosse program. This position assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the program while promoting academic excellence, character development, sportsmanship, and alignment with the mission and values of St. Petersburg Catholic High School.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, skill development sessions, and game preparation

  • Support game-day responsibilities including player supervision, strategy implementation, and administrative tasks

  • Help foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team culture

  • Assist with athlete development, including fundamentals, conditioning, and positional skills

  • Support player safety, injury prevention, and proper equipment use

  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and athletic department staff

  • Assist with program logistics such as uniforms, equipment inventory, and travel coordination

  • Support team fundraising efforts, concessions, and parent involvement as directed by the Athletic Department

  • Model professionalism, sportsmanship, and leadership at all times

  • Uphold and enforce all school, athletic department, district, and FHSAA policies

Qualifications

  • High school or club lacrosse coaching experience preferred

  • Knowledge of girls lacrosse rules, techniques, and game strategy

  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and Athletic Department

  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills

  • Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes

  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Successful completion of all required background checks and school clearances

Preferred Attributes

  • Previous playing experience in girls lacrosse

  • Experience working with high school–aged student-athletes

  • Alignment with the mission and values of Catholic education

Commitment & Compensation

  • Seasonal position aligned with the FHSAA girls lacrosse season

  • Practice and game schedule determined by the Athletic Department

  • Stipend commensurate with experience
