Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach

Department: High School Education
Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Overview:

St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Boys Lacrosse Coach to support the growth and development of our student-athletes on and off the field. The ideal candidate will bring energy, knowledge of the game, and a commitment to the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and student development in a faith-based educational environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Coach in planning and executing practices, game strategies, and team management.

  • Provide position-specific coaching and skill development, particularly in areas of strength (attack, midfield, defense, or goalie).

  • Assist with game day operations, including setup, warm-ups, in-game adjustments, and post-game reviews.

  • Serve as a role model for student-athletes, promoting positive behavior, accountability, and academic responsibility.

  • Help monitor athlete eligibility, attendance, and physicals in coordination with the Athletic Department.

  • Maintain communication with players, families, and the coaching staff.

  • Uphold the mission and values of St. Petersburg Catholic High School and the FHSAA.


Qualifications:

  • Prior lacrosse coaching or playing experience preferred (high school, club, or collegiate level).

  • Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes and collaborate with coaching staff.

  • Must be available for afternoon practices, evening games, and occasional weekend events.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Completion of FHSAA coaching requirements (or willingness to complete upon hire).

  • Must pass a Level II background check and complete diocesan Safe Environment Training.
