Job Summary
The Assistant Principal supports the mission and vision of the school by managing key operational and student-facing areas, including school marketing, social media, parent and community communication, student scheduling, and discipline. This leadership role requires an experienced, collaborative, tech-savvy, and mission-driven professional who can effectively engage with students, staff, and families while promoting the school’s identity and maintaining a safe, respectful, and organized learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy to enhance enrollment and community engagement.
- Maintain and grow the school’s online presence across social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube).
- Create and manage content for newsletters, websites, digital signage, and parent communications.
- Collaborate with the Principal and admissions director to support open houses, tours, and promotional events.
- Serve as liaison to the Home and School Association and assist in organizing school events and outreach.
Scheduling
- Create and manage master student schedules in collaboration with faculty and academic leadership.
- Coordinate special schedules for testing, lunch and recess duties, and enrichment programs.
Student Discipline & Behavior Management
- Oversee day-to-day student discipline, ensuring a safe and respectful school environment aligned with school policies and Catholic values.
- Develop and enforce student behavior plans and restorative practices.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers regarding behavioral expectations and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain discipline records and report trends to the Principal as needed.
School Leadership & Support
- Collaborate with the Principal and leadership team to implement school-wide initiatives and policies.
- Serve as administrative support during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and school events.
- Assist with emergency planning, supervision, and safety drills.
- Represent the school at community or diocesan meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic with a deep commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, administration, or related field.
- State certification in administration or leadership
- At least 3–5 years of effective elementary and/or middle school leadership experience
- Expertise with digital communications, social media management, and marketing tools.
- Proven ability to manage student behavior constructively and compassionately.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with student information systems and scheduling software including FACTS, Constant Contact, Finalsite.
- Experience with Adobe Suite, or similar marketing design platforms.
- Commitment to Catholic education.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
