Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time (depending on school needs)
Work Hours: Typically 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM, with additional administrative hours as needed
The Extended Day Director is responsible for the daily supervision and management of the school's aftercare program. This includes overseeing student safety and behavior, coordinating activities, managing billing and parent communication, and ensuring smooth administrative operations. The director fosters a positive, nurturing environment that aligns with the school’s values and supports the growth and well-being of all students.
Student Supervision & Program Management:
Supervise and engage students during aftercare activities, including indoor and outdoor play, snack time, homework support, and enrichment activities.
Implement and monitor behavior expectations and discipline policies.
Ensure student safety and maintain accurate attendance records.
Organize and oversee daily schedules and transitions between activities.
Coordinate with school staff and external vendors for programming support as needed.
Administrative & Billing Duties:
Maintain up-to-date student registration records and emergency contact information.
Manage billing processes and track student attendance
Work with the Office Manager to ensure timely collection of payments.
Maintain confidentiality of student and family records.
Parent Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for parents regarding the extended day program.
Respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and special requests.
Send out regular updates or newsletters as needed.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with all school and state guidelines for childcare programs.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces.
Conduct regular safety drills and respond to emergencies appropriately.
Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Familiarity with billing software or Microsoft Excel.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
Assist in planning special events, early release day activities, or holiday programs.
Collaborate with administration on program development and improvement.
Attend occasional staff meetings or professional development sessions.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a Level II Background Screening.
