St. Anthony Catholic School is a historic and picturesque VPK-8th Grade Diocesan School located in San Antonio, Florida, just 35 minutes north of Tampa. We are seeking to hire a part-time school counselor beginning in with the 2025 – 2026 school year. We are a community of hard-working, faith-filled people who love the work we do and the students we teach. We are seeking someone who consistently strives for what is best for students, who is creative and collaborative, who never stops learning, and who wants to be a part of a team that has high expectations of themselves and their students while having a lot of fun in the process.

The counselor is a professional member of our staff who assists the principal in the integration of school-based counseling services for the school community. Qualified candidates possess a Masters in Counselor Education and have a minimum of three years experience in the field. This person is a good communicator with students, colleagues and parents and is willing to uphold the teachings of the Catholic faith.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Acts as an advocate for all students 
• Works in collaboration with teachers and school administration concerning student issues
• Counsels individual and/or small groups of students with academic, behavioral and personal/social concerns
• Assists students in developing a plan for achieving educational, behavioral and personal/social goals
• Implements a comprehensive school counseling program by teaching one guidance lesson per month to each class

Goals

• Helps to coordinate the school resource program
• Leads the IEP/SSP process for the school and acts as a liaison between the county and our school during the IEP qualification process
• Confers with classroom teachers, administration, support staff, community agencies and parents regarding students and their needs
• Coordinates with school and community agencies to broaden students’ resources
• Seeks resources necessary to achieve school goals
• Assists in the identification and disaggregation of critical data, such as grades, test scores, attendance, and enrollment
• Uses data to develop strategies to positively impact students
• Follows the guidelines of the national, state and district standards for professional school counselors
• Adheres to ethical and legal professional standards
• Performs other related duties, as required

Selected candidates must complete a Level II background screening and a series of Safe Environment-related courses to ensure the safety and well-being of our students and community.
