Job Title:                             Director of Admissions & Recruitment

Summary of Responsibilities: The Director of Admissions & Recruitment oversees recruiting, admitting, and enrolling new and transfer students to Cristo Rey Tampa and is responsible for setting and meeting the annual enrollment goals. The Director of Recruitment & Admissions responsibilities include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build external relationships to recruit students who fit the Cristo Rey Tampa student profile with Catholic, public, charter, and other private K-8 and middle schools in surrounding areas and with community organizations, employers, churches, and nonprofits serving youth and parents.
  • Represent Cristo Rey Tampa to potential students and their families at high school fairs, expos, church services, community fairs, and other community gatherings, often with school community representatives, such as student ambassadors.
  • Communicate the school's mission and values to the community and external stakeholders through various mediums in collaboration with the Admissions Coordinator, Director of Communications, and Development Director, as appropriate.
  • Managing the daily operations of the Recruitment and Enrollment Department and the planning and development of all recruiting and admissions-related matters.
  • Organizing, overseeing, and participating as appropriate in the interview and admissions process, which includes coordinating with faculty, Corporate Work Study staff, school leadership, and prospective students and their families to ensure a timely, smooth, and effective admissions process.
  • Plan, execute, and garner internal and external engagement in school ambassadorial programs such as Open Houses, Shadow Days, and other promotional events.
  • Provide superior customer service by maintaining timely communication in Spanish & English with prospective students and their families.
  • Assist families through the financial aid process, including completing income verification and scholarship application assistance.
  • Manage and prepare comprehensive, data-driven reports about recruitment, enrollment and retention for the President and Board of Directors as well as the Cristo Rey Network.
  • Attend and participate in Cristo Rey Network programs and professional development for Recruitment & Enrollment Directors or Assistant Directors or other programs as directed by the President.
  • Manage the Student Ambassador program including recruiting current students to apply and running monthly meetings and annual trainings and appreciation events for ambassadors. Connect with other departments to ensure ambassador participation.
  • Some nights and weekends are required.

 

Qualification & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)
  • Knowledge of computer usage and modern office practices.
  • Effective communication techniques and procedures. Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to serve economically disadvantaged, racially diverse students and their families with patience and humility.
  • Highly collaborative, dynamic leader with the ability to manage a large number of professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills (verbal, listening, & written).
  • A passion for learning about the educational landscape in which Cristo Rey operates and demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Cristo Rey Network and model.
  • Culturally aware and responsive to various cultural needs of our communities.
  • Demonstrated objectivity, neutrality, calmness under pressure, and timely follow-through on commitments.
